Research and Innovation Centre was established in year 2014. The main objective of the RIC serves as the guidepost for the university to reach its full potential in research and scholarly activity which will enhance Sri Lanka's future economic, social and cultural well-being. Further, the RIC is to promote and facilitate leading edge, high-quality basic and applied research and development activities including collaborative and interdisciplinary research at University level. In order to achieve this objective, RIC will build and provide sufficient support to the researchers and will assist in enhancing research capacity at the University. RIC will also develop and maintain network between local and foreign research centres and researchers in the public and private sectors, and graduate students. Further, RIC create an environment to foster development of intellectual property to the benefit of the Sri Lankan economy.

Research Environment
Research & Innovation Centre strives to create research culture at University. In order to create research culture at University, RIC is taking measures to expedite all administrative matters to motivate researches at South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
Research Allowance
Research Allowance for the Year 2019 In terms of the Higher Education Circular No. 01/2011, the members of the academic staff, administrative staff in the Senior category and other eligible staff who are in the permanent cadre in the university system be eligible to receive research allowance for the relevant year effective from 1st January to 31st December. Accordingly, the academic staff, administrative staff in the Senior category and other eligible staff are kindly requested to submit their application for Research allowance for the year 2019 in the format enclosed herewith to the Dean of the faculty / Registrar/ Librarian through the relevant authorities. To commence receiving the Research Allowance for year 2019 together with January salary, please be good enough to send the duly completed application to Academic and Student Affairs Division through Dean of the faculty / Registrar /Librarian on or before 29.12.2018
